Franklin & Marshall KNMR36 Knit Cardigan In Grey Melange

Firetrap Corbin G1 Jeans in Dryink Wash

As we all know summer has gone past too quickly yet again but to drive away those winter blues why not add some warmth to your wardrobe, and not just in the obvious sense, just because its winter doesn’t mean you should lose your colour after all!

Ranging from jackets to knitwear to hoodies and sweatshirts there is something for everyone this winter at The Menswear Site, of course don’t just stop at tops. With jeans and chinos that compliment every outfit you can always find something to tickle your fashion fancy.

Like this Franklin & Marshall cardigan for example, team with light t-shirts and dark denims or chinos, add a pair of plimsolls or boots and you have yourself a new winter outfit. One that you will cherish all year round.

The best thing about fashion is its diversity the ease of mixing different combinations of clothing together to make an outfit that is truly unique. We are proud to offer a massive selection for everyone, enabling you to create your own style.

Seeing that straight cut jeans are the style everyone’s going for this season I thought I’d throw my opinion into the mix.

While personally I prefer slimmer jeans the Firetrap Corbin jeans are an exception, the leg itself is straight but with a slimmer waistband ( I can’t deviate too much). Perfect with just about any tops, footwear or accessories for that matter they really are a key addition to your wardrobe for this winter. (I say all this from experience those are my legs!)

We have many different styles under one banner and its that variety that makes us one of the best.  Obviously there are hundreds of alternatives not just these two examples, they’re all here and waiting for you to make your decision.

Let us know what you think is a winter essential, give us examples we might just use them.

Bolster your winter wardrobe at The Menswear Site.

Spring/Summer 2011 – Stay Ahead

Friday, June 17th, 2011

This season sees massive variety in the fashion industry, and in these times where its key to ‘stay on trend’ it can get slightly confusing. But with our help you might be able to remain one step ahead, sure its obvious that chinos and deck shoes are in this year but there are alternatives.

If like me you don’t want to be wearing the same thing as all of your friends then you need to make sure either you’re telepathic or you just add your own little twists. I know it seems redundant to take ideas about being individual from someone else but it might just work. For example there are slightly quirkier clothing labels that offer an edgier look (Bolongaro Trevor, Humor and Denham to name a few) these simple modifications can add a little bit of individuality to even the most tired looks.

For those who like a bit more of a slim look there are various brands to choose from, for jeans we bring you Diesel and Nudie. Chinos there is Criminal Damage and Monkee. Then adorn with Amplified or Duck And Cover and many others, our summer footwear range is something to be marvelled at our two main contenders have to be Lacoste and Fred Perry. Or for a more smart casual look we have Ted Baker, Paolo Vandini and Lavenham.

The main players this summer are all putting out similar products so its going to prove quite difficult to get an original piece, difficult but not impossible.  You’ll see many variants of the same outfit its just up to you to find something that works for you.

Monkee Genes – Gene-ius

Saturday, June 4th, 2011

Monkee GenesMonkee Genes are a simple yet lucrative brand, relatively understated for the work they do and the effort the do it with, using organic fabrics they are made or rather created as an economical alternative to ordinary chinos and jeans.

An essential look for this summer teamed with plain tees or a lightweight knit atop casual plimsolls or espadrilles, these versatile garments are a must have this year. With all the commitment that is poured into every pair and all the ingredients used will see you never wanting to take them off.

Designed in England, Monkee Genes  was born in 2006 out of a frustration and boredom with the jeans market  and offers a fresh, vibrant and youthful  direction. Quality of fit and make are high on the Monkee Genes agenda. In a world of cheap and disposable fashion manufactured without soul or identity, Monkee Genes offers an antithesis.

With Monkee Genes comes another key philosophy No Blood, No Sweat, No Tears, manufactured with a conscience and without the use of child labour or sweatshops, brings another brand that sets a marker and awaits everyone else’s response.

Since July 2008 Monkee Genes has been awarded the Soil Association  organic standard and the Global Organic Textile Standard /  “G.O.T.S”. These are the first affordable, organic jeans with this accreditation. The “G.O.T.S” means that all working standards are subject to thorough checks and are considered as important as the environmental factors. This involves each and every stage of the process being taken into consideration from the cotton growing and picking down to the content of the button and label.

There are few brands that are as dedicated to making sure both their garments and employees are this well looked after, which in itself speaks volumes. Monkee Genes, new to TheMenswearSite.com for Spring/Summer 2011 try them yourselves it will be one of the best choices you’ll ever make. Guaranteed.
