Henri Lloyd is a British based and founded designer menswear company with its headquarters in Manchester. Ex Polish soldier Henri Strzelecki settled in Manchester after the War and started his career on fashion by working for clothing and textile mills around the city. Henri was a keen sailor and started to experiment with clothing styles and fabrics that would be ideal for his hobby.
His unique innovations were very popular and went on to revolutionise the sailing clothing market. Realising the potential of his designs and product innovations he started the Henri Lloyd brand. His clothing was used by many sailing pioneers and athletes to perform in competitions and expeditions further boosting the credibility of the company.
By the 1980’s the company diversified into the fashion menswear industry, expanding their collection to include a range of shirts, jumpers, jackets and footwear. Today Henri Lloyd is one of the UK’s most popular exports and they operate over 30 of their own stores across the globe including mainland Europe the Middle East and the USA.
